Description: When Laura lost her best friend, Jordan weeks before the world shut down in January of 2020, she wasn’t sure how she would cope. Discovering Jordan left over 700 pages of plays and live arts scripts, she did the only thing she knew, create his last show. Laura Anne Harris is a multi-award winning solo performer and playwright whose work has been seen around the world including Bangkok, Toronto, New York, and Cincinnati. Laura is delighted to perform her newest solo work as a reading for the 2024 Fertile Ground Festival.

Laura Anne Harris is a writer/performer/director, born and raised in Victoria, B.C. and now resides in Vancouver, Wash. Laura trained at the University of Victoria’s Acting program. In 2020, Laura received her Master in Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. Laura wrote and starred in Pitch Blond at the 2007 Victoria Fringe Festival, where she won the Critic’s Choice Award for ‘Best Fringe Production. Since then, she has performed this production to a sold-out run at the 2008 Uno Festival in Victoria, B.C., the Sunset Theatre, the Chutzpah Festival, the 2009 Femfest, and the 2011 Oh Solo Mio Festiva. Laura’s first full-length play, Red/Rouge, had its international debut in Bangkok, Thailand, at the IF Festival and, in December 2019, had a professional workshop reading at Vancouver’s Touchstone Theatre. In February 2022, she was privileged to be part of Pi Theatre’s Provocateur Series.
