Fold in Gently: Recipes for Friendship and Forgiveness (and Fucking Up)
By Elsa Dougherty & Rachel Wells
Producer: Mug Mantel Media

Food holds memory. Whether it’s eating pizza on a Friday night with your chums, having strictly Funfetti cake on your birthday, or baking pumpkin bars with your grandma, food can remind us of our dearest relationships. Fold in Gently: Recipes for Friendship and Forgiveness (and Fucking Up) aims to bring you moments of joy during these trying times. To do that, performer-creators Elsa Dougherty and Rachel Wells have combined baking and theatre to give you a new type of interactive performance experience. Set in your kitchen you will listen to a series of stories, insights, and memories from people all around the country sharing what food means to them. Woven between these stories are the instructions for baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies. At the beginning of the show, you will have the ingredients, and by the end a sweet treat to share… or not to share. So gather your flour and prepare for a dance party in the kitchen! Their stories are the score, your kitchen the stage. (Audio theatre)
